IRIS READS
Iris Reads: measured color palettes from your photos
Iris reveals the relationships of the colors that speak to you.
Great for designers, branding inspiration and moodboards. Your photo stays on your device unless you share a video from Instagram’s browser.
What Iris lets you do
For branding: Lift a working color system from the photo that sparked the idea, complete with hex codes and the ratio that holds them together.
For moodboards: Drop the image and its palette side by side onto any board so the colors travel with the picture that inspired them.
The four roles
Anchor is the dark foundation. Energy is the most vivid. Atmosphere is the quieter light. Anomaly is the small outlier.
The Iris Color System gives up to four roles: Anchor, Energy, Atmosphere and Anomaly. Each image holds as many as it clearly has. For new work, a useful starting point is 55, 20, 20 and 5, and the percentages in a reading describe the image you supplied.
Price
Your first reading is free. An account adds 3 more free readings, and credit packs from $5.99. Iris Yearly gives unlimited readings for $29 a year and renews every year until cancelled.
JPEG, PNG and WebP. On iPhone, any photo in your library works.
